Collection: Thomas Stotts

I've been painting since childhood.  Growing up in Oklahoma, I always admired the beauty and mystery of the thunder clouds that would move in across the plains and the awesome sunsets I beheld.  It is natural that I became a landscape painter early in my career.  As I have painted many years now, I've added contemporary landscape, and abstract work as well. You will see a mix of these in the website portfolio. The consistency is there if you follow the three threads of palette knife oil, acrylic landscape, and my acrylic abstract work. My palette knife oil is for works with great texture, (stone, adobe, etc).  My acrylic brush work is for soft clouds and distant horizons.

In years passed, I toured full time as a traveling festival artist.  Starting in California and being accepted in shows across the country, we started an extraordinary "walkabout" from the west coast to the east coast.  As the sun was heading down that last day of our Atlantic Seaboard stay, to our joy, a school of dolphins or porpoises came near the shore to greet us and then bid us goodbye.  In the summer, of that year, we were in the Crested Butte Fine Art Festival and then went to Telluride where the mountains of both areas are unreal they are so beautiful.  I now show work in OKC at my home/studio/gallery and in the Paseo Arts District,  and in Dallas  at the World Trade Center.
